FAQs (and more here)
How does Baseline Vision work?
Magic.
Just kidding. The Baseline Vision camera device is composed of 2 camera sensors and a computer, which are used to detect, track and analyze everything that is happening on the court. The camera is operated through your smartphone. After downloading the (free) app, just launch a session and scan the QR code on the back of the camera. Your app will directly connect to the camera through a wifi signal emitted by the camera, and you’ll be all set.
How long does it take to install Baseline Vision on a court ?
20 seconds.
Well, the first time it might take you 45. Baseline Vision’s mount is clamped on any netpost and the camera clicks on the top. No wifi or electricity needed on the court.
Can the device be locked on the court to avoid theft?
Yes.
The mounting mechanism has a dedicated space to add a standard locker (not included) which would lock the system onto the netpost. This way, you don’t have to unmount the system after each session if you don’t want to.
Can the system be connected to an electrical socket?
Yes.
The camera comes with a 100Mah battery which will last for at least 4 hours of play and 20 hours of standby. That said, if an electrical socket is available on your court, the device can be plugged in and powered unlimitedly. This will also charge your battery. Like a laptop.
Is the App free?
Yes.The app can be downloaded from Google Play and App Store for free by anyone. Down the road, we will propose “premium” paying features with more games, drills and capabilities. The free features will always stay free.
How many players can simultaneously connect to the Baseline camera?
There is no limit to the number of players/coaches/parents you can connect to the camera. That said, since every connected user is granted full control on the session (start/stop/save/…), we do not recommend connecting more than 4 persons at once.
What happens if a ball hits the camera?
Not much.
In most cases the camera will move out of position. You will then have to re-align it and re-calibrate. That said, we wish to eliminate any concern, so we cover this case in our warranty.
Is the Baseline Vision system water resistant?
The Baseline camera is rated IP33. This means that while the system will sustain rain for a reasonable amount of time (a few hours), it should be unmounted in case of heavy or extended periods of rain.
